Ever notice slow movie downloads or spottiness when surfing the net? That’s because the internet connection you have may not be optimized with your PC’s default internet settings. With System Mechanic’s internet tools, you can see if your connection settings are ideal and boost download speeds and improve responsiveness as you browse, like the pros do it.

  1. The Real McCoy: Ensure your connection settings are set up optimally.
  2. Get the Most From What You’ve Got: Tweak your internet settings for a speed boost.
  3. Control Your Destiny: Make your internet and connection settings work the way you want.

Tip 1

The Real McCoy: Ever wonder if the speeds your Internet provider promised are actually the speeds you’re getting? System Mechanic’s NetSpeed Analyzer makes it easy to find out the truth, as well as determine if your PC’s connection settings are set up optimally.

Here’s how:

  1. Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools
  2. Go to Perform Diagnostics » NetSpeed Analyzer and click Start
  3. Select a test file size and click Next
  4. NetSpeed Analyzer will download the file and display your internet speed statistics, and also inform you if your PC’s connection settings are set up optimally or not

Tip 2

Get the Most From What You’ve Got: Your computer system isn’t the same as everyone else’s, so why use the same internet settings? Generic Internet connection settings can hold you back from getting the download speeds you deserve. Optimize your Internet settings with System Mechanic’s NetBooster.

To run NetBooster in automatic mode:

  1. Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools » Maximize Performance
  2. Navigate to NetBooster » Optimize Internet Settings and click Start
  3. Select Optimize your Internet and network connection speed and click Next
  4. Select your internet connection type and click Next
Note: Most users will choose the first, default option under High-speed or broadband connections.
  5. NetBooster will automatically adjust settings to maximize your Internet speed. A system restart may be required.

Tip 3

Take Control of Your Internet Destiny: Advanced users, easily edit over a dozen Windows Internet settings to fine tune specifically for gaming, large file transfer, and just about everything in between.

To enter NetBooster’s manual editing mode:

  1. Start System Mechanic and click Toolbox » Individual Tools » Maximize Performance
  2. Navigate to NetBooster » Customize Advanced Internet Settings and click Start
  3. Under Optimization Categories, select the option or options you would like to adjust
  4. The description field for each category contains useful details and recommendations you may wish to consider
  5. You can manually adjust the settings within each category, or either: choose Use Optimal to let NetBooster choose for you, or Use Default to revert to the setting Windows originally selected
  6. When you are finished making adjustments, click Apply. You will be prompted to restart your system
  7. If after making manual settings adjustments you experience connectivity or speed issues, you can revert to the settings NetBooster originally chose for you by re-entering the NetBooster » Customize Advanced Internet Settings interface and selecting Restore All to Orig in the taskbar.
